Overview

These terms apply to every purchase made from Ciel. By placing an order, you agree to them.

Our designs and the curated edit

Ciel offers two kinds of pieces: our own designs, and a curated edit of products sourced from other designers, makers and design houses.

Curated pieces are made by their original manufacturers, not by Ciel. Product details, dimensions and materials for these pieces are provided by the manufacturer.

Natural materials

Many pieces are handmade or made from natural materials such as wood, clay, stone and hide. Variation in shape, size, tone, grain and finish is expected and is not a defect.

Shipping times

Curated pieces usually ship within 2 to 4 weeks of your order.

Ciel designs are built to order and take longer than 2 to 4 weeks to ship. We will confirm an estimated ship date with you when you order.

All shipping times are estimates. We will let you know promptly if your order is delayed.

Pricing and availability

Prices are listed in US dollars. We may change prices or availability at any time. If an item becomes unavailable after you order, we will let you know and refund you in full.

Returns

Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery.

Items must be unused, in their original condition and packaging.

Return shipping is paid by the customer.

A restocking fee of 20% of the item price is deducted from every refund.

Once we receive and inspect the return, the refund is issued to your original payment method.

To start a return, contact us before sending anything back.

Replacements

Replacements, including for items damaged in transit, are offered on a case by case basis. If something arrives damaged, contact us promptly with photos of the item and its packaging.

Warranty on Ciel designs

Products designed and offered by Ciel carry a limited warranty of up to one year from delivery, covering defects in craftsmanship.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, natural variation in materials, misuse, accidents, improper care, or modification.

If a covered defect is confirmed, we will repair or replace the piece, or issue a refund, at our discretion.

Warranty on curated pieces

Because curated pieces are sourced from other designers and manufacturers, any warranty on them is between the manufacturer and the customer. Ciel does not provide a separate warranty on these items.

If you need to make a warranty claim, we are happy to help you reach the manufacturer.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Ciel's liability for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in place when you order apply to that order.
